Portland Help Center

Portland Help Center is an inner-city mental health clinic. A professional and experienced multidisciplinary treatment team provides community based outpatient psychiatric treatment and clinical community support to financially challenged adults with serious and disabling mental illness and chemical dependency. The psychiatric service is integrated into the local community services along with each client’s natural supports and other mental health providers.

Additionally, there is an adult psychiatric outreach program which provides services to individuals who are at-risk, difficult to serve, and/or homeless. These services are provided at the Oxford Street Shelter and at the Preble Street Resource Center, as well as in patient's homes and at other locations when clinically indicated. The outreach team consists of board certified psychiatrists, certified psychiatric nurses, one of whom is dually certified in addiction nursing, a licensed clinical social worker and a Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician II.
