Maine Caring FamiliesThe Maine Caring Families Program is part of a statewide system providing clinical case management services to children who have mild to moderate behavioral difficulties and are living in therapeutic foster homes. It is a public/private partnership between the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and Spurwink. DHHS employs Regional Coordinators who are responsible for the implementation and management of the program within their geographical areas. Clinical Case Managers, employed by Spurwink, are responsible for the coordination of services for the foster children and support of the foster parents. Maine Caring Families is designed to help children who are in state custody achieve emotional and physical well-being. Spurwink Clinical Case Managers provide support and advice to help Therapeutic Foster Parents manage difficult behavior. Supports include weekly home visits, foster parent support groups, an Individualized Service Plan (ISP) for the child, advocacy, and coordination of outside services. | Maine Caring FamiliesMarie Ilvonen, DirectorPHONE: 207-582-9205 FAX: 207-582-9652 milvonen@spurwink.org |
