Center for Positive Youth Development
"Creating Innovation, Building Evidence through Research,
Program Development & Training"
The Center for Positive Youth Development at Spurwink (CPYDS) supports programs and research that benefit at-risk youth throughout the state by focusing on the development of their “assets” or strengths. The Center provides ongoing program, research and training support to youth, parents, teachers and service providers, and provides a vehicle for all youth-serving organizations to work together with increased effectiveness and fidelity to the positive youth development approach. The CPYDS is the new home for the statewide Communities for Children and Youth Network.

“The Center for Positive Youth Development at Spurwink’s website page is currently under renovation. Thank you for your patience as we make this page more user-friendly and accessible.”
“Spurwink is the right place, at the right time, to help all of us in Maine focus on preventing poor outcomes for our children and youth by promoting positive youth development research, programs and training for all sectors of our state—especially education, juvenile justice and mental health. Maine has the opportunity, through the Center for Positive Youth Development at Spurwink, to contribute to the national dialogue on what really works to help youth thrive.”
