Christmas Party Hop Benefits Artists-in-Residence Program
On Thursday, December 18 th at 7 pm, Spurwink Services and the Maine Academy of Modern Music will present "The Christmas Party Hop," a benefit for both organizations. Led by Jeff Shaw, founder of the Maine Academy of Modern Music and a music teacher at Spurwink, the “Hop” will present four rock ‘n roll bands comprised of teachers and students.
The event will be held at Deering Grange Hall, 1408 Washington Ave., in Portland. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students. All proceeds will be divided between the Maine Academy and Spurwink's Artists-in-Residence Program.
Spurwink's Artists-in-Residence Program matches Maine artists with Spurwink students in the areas of music, theater, dance and art. The Maine Academy of Modern Music is a non-profit school focused on creating positive learning experiences for all students through the use of contemporary music such as rock and hip-hop.
