Spurwink Humanitarian of the Year: Peter Vigue

Peter Vigue , President and CEO of The Cianbro Companies, one of the east coast's largest civil and heavy industrial construction and construction services companies, has been selected by Spurwink as the 2007 Humanitarian of the Year. Vigue will be recognized at a gala event held on Saturday, November 17th at the Portland Marriott at Sable Oaks in South Portland.

Presented annually since 1987, the Humanitarian of the Year Award recognizes individuals or organizations that have made significant contributions to enrich the lives of others. Spurwink is proud to be honoring Peter Vigue for his generous contributions to Maine , as both a business and community leader, whose dedication and tireless energy has touched many lives throughout the state.

Mr. Vigue is well known for his business acumen and his strong commitment to people. His belief that we all share responsibility for improving the economy, providing educational opportunities, and achieving a safe and healthy lifestyle is reflected in the leadership he has provided at the national, state and local level.

The Humanitarian of the Year event not only honors community leaders such as Peter, but also serves as a major fundraiser for Spurwink and has brought significant community recognition to the organization's work and mission as a provider of education, prevention, technology and social services.
