About Spurwink Services

Spurwink Services is a nationally accredited non-profit organization that provides behavioral health and educational services to effectively meet the diverse needs of individuals and families facing emotional, behavioral and developmental challenges. Our primary areas of service include: residential and day treatment for youth; residential and day services for adults; outpatient services; and community-based programs.

As a critical component of Maine 's health care system, Spurwink Services has gained a reputation for excellence in evidence-based treatment and service delivery throughout Maine and beyond. A principal goal of the agency is to provide a stable, emotionally supportive environment that is the least restrictive and the most effective in helping clients reach their full potential.

Our wide array of programs and services is designed to meet the identified needs of each client and, to this end, each client's program is highly individualized and continually reviewed, monitored and refined. Individualized care and treatment are the cornerstone of the agency's mission and values.

• The agency holds full accreditation from the Council on Accreditation for Children and Family Services (COA).
• Spurwink Services is a member of the Child Welfare League of America and the American Association of Children's Residential Centers.
• Through Maine's interdepartmental process, Spurwink Services is licensed as a Mental Health Facility at the Full Service Level and is approved as a Special Purpose School (K-12 ungraded).
